Hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) are very effective and efficient stabilizers for polyolefins. They do not function by absorbing UV radiation, but by inhibiting degradation of the polymer, which has already formed free radicals.

HALS not only provide the necessary light stability, but also in come cases help to achieve the required thermal stability.
